At SNG, we adhere to the Data Protection Act (DPA) 2018, which incorporates the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of 2016/679 (GDPR) into UK legislation. This means that you have the right to request a copy of personal data held by SNG that is identifiable to you. It's important to note the following details regarding CCTV footage requests:

  1. Personal Data and CCTV Footage: CCTV footage of you is considered personal data under the DPA and GDPR. However, please be aware that you can only request CCTV footage that specifically relates to you or your property. You cannot request CCTV footage of other individuals. In cases where the requested footage contains images of other people, we will assess the request for proportionality. If deemed suitable for supply, any images of other individuals captured in the footage would need to be pixelated or excluded from the provided CCTV extracts.

  1. Procedural Considerations: Please note that there may be a charge associated with fulfilling your CCTV footage request. Additionally, it's important to understand that SNG retains CCTV footage for a maximum of 28 days as per our data retention policies.

  1. Requesting CCTV Footage: To request CCTV footage, you must submit a written request to the neighborhood team. Clearly state the specific footage you are requesting and provide any relevant details to assist in locating the requested footage.

By following these procedures and respecting the rights and privacy of others, we can ensure that CCTV footage requests are handled appropriately and in compliance with data protection regulations.
