All our sheltered and extra care housing in London and Hertford are linked to a community alarm service. There are pull cords in your flat, and in communal areas, for the community alarm service. When you pull the cord, they dial via a phone line to a monitoring service that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This enables you to access help in case of an emergency in your home, for example if you were to have a fall or be taken ill. The service would contact your next of kin or the emergency services as appropriate. As well as the pull cords you can opt to have a pendant that you can wear. We’ll ask you to provide some basic information that will be passed on to the alarm service, so they are able to deal with the emergency.
